Hardbrücke stairway, Zurich

Five in-situ concrete spiral staircases lead from Hardstrasse to the bus stops on Hardbrücke. The stairs cantilever around the tubular lift core. A footbridge cantilevers 7 m from the lift core to the bridge without imposing any load on it.
New stairway to the Hardbrücke, Zurich
Two stairway structures are located at Escher-Wyss-Platz and at Schiffbau, with a fifth at Prime Tower. Depending on the terrain, they are 12 to 15 m high.
The stair geometry was developed in collaboration with Urs B. Roth (Zurich).
