Rümlang Production Hall

New construction of a workshop hall with office space for the timber construction division of Implenia Schweiz AG. Efficient production of timber elements is possible on a floor area of 58 x 60 m. The 10 m high building is divided into 5 sub-halls as well as an office floor above Hall 1.

Implenia Schweiz AG Timber Construction Production Hall, Rümlang

Clamped into the shallow-founded floor slab are 31 in-situ concrete columns, which provide horizontal stabilization and support the longitudinal trusses of the shed roofs as well as the 14 m span box elements of the office floor. The office floor has a floor area of 38 x 14 m and is designed as a timber frame structure with a gable roof.
All hall trusses, spanning 10–15 m, are made of BauBuche and could be manufactured on-site under a mobile tent thanks to a multi-part design and node connections with self-drilling full-thread screws.
Eight bridge crane systems are planned for the production halls, spanning the respective hall widths. In addition, a total of 10 cantilever cranes are planned, which can each cover half the hall width with a span of 6 m. The crane runways, attached to the columns and connected horizontally as trusses, span approximately 12 m from column to column.
